Description: The Site management safety training scheme – Refresher (SMSTS-R) course is for delegates who have previously passed the full Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS) course or subsequent refresher course, and can provide a valid current certificate. It aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course includes a wide range of topics, many building on the previous five-day course programme. Delivered interactively, the course includes group and individual exercises, discussions and projects. The refresher course is only for delegates who have previously passed the five-day Site managers safety training scheme (SMSTS) course, or a previous refresher and can provide proof of a valid certificate. The course will serve to improve awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation and health, safety, welfare and environmental issues as well as identify measures that will assist the practical implementation of responsibilities established by new legislation and new working practices. The course will be delivered interactively and discussion will be open with all delegates to set the format of the two days to ensure all training needs are met. At the start of each course, delegates will be provided with their own copy of the mandatory publication: (Construction site safety – The comprehensive guide (GE700) The course is broken down into 5 learning areas Legal and management Health and welfare General safety High risk activities Environment Assessment will be by an end of course exam paper. Delegates are expected to participate during the course. This is a two-day course. Delegates are required to complete the full course (15 hours) in the correct order to be eligible for certification.
